Tiger Nuts, Healthy and Nutritious #GlutenFree Snacks

Disclosure: I have received information and products from Tiger Nuts to facilitate this review and giveaway. No other form of financial compensation was given and the opinions stated are my own.

Well, here’s the shocker! Tiger Nuts are NOT nuts at all. They are tubers and they grow on the ground, much like a potato. They are nature’s way of delivering a natural, great tasting, nutritious, GLUTEN-FREE, ORGANIC, health-snack alternative that gives you that boost of energy you sometimes need. They are packed with fiber, which acts as a dietary aid, full of vitamins, “O” trans fats, and are perfect for people who are allergic to nuts or are diabetic.

I was contacted by the lovely people at Tiger Nuts USA to try their gluten-free snacks. I was very intrigued just by the name and was excited to try a new snack.

I was sent the Premium Organic Tiger Nuts and the Supreme Peeled Tiger Nuts.

Not soaked

The Premium Organic Tiger Nuts are the traditional Tiger Nut and have been around for over 4,000 years. They are grown and harvested in the fields of Spain and cured for three months. The best way to eat this little nutritious snack is to soak them over night so they are easier to chew. I tried them both ways, and although good not soaked, they were much, much better soaked. Think about how you have to soak beans sometimes, same thing, just makes them softer and more delicious.

They have a very unique flavor, sweet, but nutty. They are chewy, and definitely make a great pop em’ in your mouth snack. They are also extremely healthy being gluten-free, 100% organic, high in fibers (33%), low in fat, nut free, lactose free, high in nutrition, and contain all natural sugars.

The Supreme Peeled Tiger Nuts are a huge seller because you can eat these little tasty nuts right from the package. They are  also gluten-free, high in fibers (33%), low in fat, nut free, lactose free, high in nutrition, and contain all natural sugars.  They are not 100% organic due to the fact that the machine used to peel them is not organic.

I really liked the flavor and texture of the peeled Tiger Nuts. Something about the consistency once you chew them reminds me of fresh coconut.

So, if you are looking for a healthy, gluten-free snack that is definitely unique, head over to the Tiger Nuts page and buy a bag to see for yourself. They sell them in 4, 8, and 12 ounce bags.
